Mood, stress, personality (especially neuroticism), and sleep quality are key in determining how severely tinnitus impacts an individual.

It makes sense. Some people feel things more than others. Perception is reality as the saying goes.

I would say this is common sense. Pick any other annoyance - some people might be able to tolerate it better than others.

So people who have trouble sleeping otherwise are more likely to find tinnitus annoying and bothersome.   Is that the conclusion of this study?

pretty much yes.   Among people who have tinnitus, those who have trouble sleeping are more likely to find it annoying or distressing. 

You can think this is common sense but we have a scientific method here backing up the theory.
