Change of pitch after a long time - silent_ring - November 17, 2025
Hey everyone,
I’ve had tinnitus for about 10 years, and something unusual happened tonight. My tinnitus suddenly changed pitch noticeably higher than what I’m used to. I haven’t had a shift like that in a long time.
In the moment, I clearly felt the difference, but later in the day I couldn’t tell whether I was hearing the new pitch or if it had gone back to the old one. It’s kind of confusing.
Has anyone else experienced something like this? Did the change stick for you, or was it temporary?

Hi. Thanks for sharing. I have experienced something similar and it happened several times, but I can't identify a pattern and I don't see anything obvious as the cause. I get this secondary tinnitus that seems to kick in. I call it "sound attack" (see my other post). Mine lasts about 1 minute, how long is yours?
